Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) doesn't have to be scary for you if you're trying to avoid candy and sweets! The event offers not only trick-or-treating, but also exclusive treats such as alcoholic beverages and baked goods that are Halloween themed and can be very tempting... but have no fear! There are plenty of things to do where you don't even have to worry about candy and Halloween themed snacks for sale around the Magic Kingdom for the event. Here is everything you can do without having to worry about going overboard in terms of how many points you use:
Shows
You can build a full itinerary out of all the shows to see at MNSSHP that candy will be the last thing in your mind!
My favorite show of all is the castle show, which for 2015-2017 has been the Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular. Whether or not you're a fan of the 1990s Disney movie Hocus Pocus, this show is a must see and features a lot of fan favorite Disney villains. Get there early if you want a good spot near the front of the stage so you can really see everything!
There's also the Boo To You Parade, which goes through Frontierland, Liberty Square, and then makes its way down Main Street. This is another show you want to get there early for to secure your spot so you can really see everything.
And, of course, there's the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks show, which is - in my opinion - the absolute best fireworks show that Disney World has to offer. My recommended viewing spot for all Magic Kingdom fireworks shows is on Main Street standing near Starbucks, which will work out if you're trying to avoid the aforementioned exclusive sweets because Starbucks sells fruit.
Character Meet and Greets
When you're not waiting for a show, there are character meet and greets throughout the park and many of them are exclusive to MNSSHP, so take advantage of this! While I was not on Weight Watchers during MNSSHP in 2015, I found that between character meet and greets (because the lines can get kind of long depending on the character) and the shows, I did not really have time to grab any candy unless I was walking directly by it on my way to another character or to a show - which, if you want to know exactly where the candy stops will be, they're located on the map so you can be sure to try to avoid the area if you feel like you need to.
Dance Party!
Get your FitPoints with Mike Wazowski, Sully, and other friends from Monsters, Inc. in Tomorrowland! If you have extra time to kill and really don't want to feel tempted to go eat a whole bag of candy, head over to Tomorrowland and you can dance the night away.
And if you really want a piece of candy...
In my experience, WDW doesn't give out full-sized candy bars for trick or treating, but the mini or fun sized ones, which means it's something you can look up in the tracker ahead of time and pre-plan for if you want to! If you really don't want to miss out, just get a single piece and give the rest of your candy to some kid and make their night!
